A native of North Carolina, Darrell G. Edwards served as Executive Director of numerous orchestras over the past forty years, including: the Hudson Valley Philharmonic, Columbus Symphony Orchestra (OH), Dallas Symphony, Buffalo Philharmonic, Philharmonia Virtuosi, the Charleston Symphony (SC) Orchestra, the Murfreesboro Symphony Orchestra (TN) and Orchestra Kentucky. In addition, he has served as President of the Regional Orchestra Managers Association and two years on the board of the American Symphony Orchestra League. He is a Kentucky Arts Council Peer Advisor and works with many arts organizations of all types across the state. He was employed as a consultant (retreat facilitator) for the Peer Advisory Network (PAN), a program of the South Carolina Arts Alliance. A graduate of the Oberlin Conservatory of Music in trumpet performance, he served his country in the USMA Band at West Point. He has served on numerous grant panels for arts commissions in several states.
